Urban squares are essential spaces for social interaction and the provision of ecosystem services; however, the unequal distribution of their quality and infrastructure may reflect processes of environmental injustice. This study aimed to evaluate the perception of visitors regarding environmental comfort, afforestation, and infrastructure of 20 squares in Belém, Pará, Eastern Amazon. Field research, conducted from September 2021 to March 2022, involved the application of questionnaires to 398 visitors, who assigned scores from 1 to 4 for criteria such as afforestation quality, environmental comfort, landscaping, conservation, lighting, and paving. Results indicated that most users are female, aged between 21 and 30 years old, and visit the squares mainly for leisure. Squares located in central areas obtained better evaluations, while those in peripheral areas received the lowest scores, highlighting socio-spatial inequalities. Lighting and paving were the aspects with the lowest average scores, pointing to maintenance weaknesses. It is concluded that square management should consider the multifunctionality of spaces, accessibility, and social participation in planning to promote equity in access to environmental benefits and improve the population's quality of life.
