Misuse of Citations (Plagiarism)
Plagiarism takes many forms, ranging from presenting another person's article as the author’s own, copying or paraphrasing substantial parts of another person's work (without attribution), to claiming research results conducted by others.
Plagiarism in all its forms constitutes unethical behavior and is unacceptable. The Revista Brasileira de Meio Ambiente is resolute in addressing plagiarism in its submissions. The editorial decision is immediate rejection when plagiarism is detected.
Both minor and major instances of plagiarism fall under the same category of academic misconduct, leaving no possibility for resubmission. It is essential to emphasize that academic journals are not universities, schools, or scientific methodology disciplines tasked with identifying and tolerating plagiarism while favoring unethical articles over ethical ones. Submissions must strictly exclude such practices.
The journal employs a dual-review process for detecting plagiarism in submitted articles.
