Recommendations for Current Research
If a reviewer suggests that an author include citations to the reviewer's work (or that of their associates), this should be for genuine scientific reasons and not with the intent to increase the reviewer's citation count or visibility of their work (or that of their associates). Suggestions for current citations are encouraged, but they must respect the topic and rely on accessible and widely available databases.
In adherence to the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA), RVBMA does not mandate the use of articles from journals with an Impact Factor (IF) in its submission model. Additionally, the indexing of accepted articles in other databases encourages readers and researchers to explore alternative repositories (and consequently other metrics).
