ABOUT FEES AND PAYMENTS

The journal REVISTA BRASILEIRA DE MEIO AMBIENTE charges a fee (APC - Article Processing Charges) of 480 reais (R$ 480.00) or 100 dollars (USD$100.00) after the article has been accepted. There is no charge for submission and evaluation, both of which remain free of charge.

Respecting the policy of encouraging research, articles submitted to REVISTA BRASILEIRA DE MEIO AMBIENTE from Portuguese-speaking African countries (Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique and São Tomé and Príncipe) will not pay any fees if the article is accepted. Articles submitted before June 1, 2025 will not be charged if the editorial decision is accepted.

WHAT DOES AN APC (FEE) COVER IN THE JOURNAL?

Publishing and maintaining articles in constant online activity involves costs.

Thus, some of these costs are covered by Article Processing Charges (APCs).

In addition to permanent, immediate, and global access to the full text of the article, the APC covers:

• Editorial work: administrative support, content commissioning, journal development.
• Technical infrastructure and innovation: development, maintenance, and operation of the journal's online system and website.
• Dissemination and indexing: inclusion in indexing services.
• Journal and content marketing: initiatives to ensure readers and authors are aware of the work published in the journal.
• Cybersecurity, defense, and anti-malware measures on the website.
• DOI (Document Object Identifier) for articles.

Note that behind the submission and publication of an article is a complete and complex network of tasks, which involve temporal, physical, and financial costs.
